Basic interview questions
These are common interview questions mostly asked to bioinformaticians looking for an entry level job:
- Could you walk me through your resume?
- How do you deal with pressure or stressful situations?
- How do work on a team? Do you prefer to work alone or on a team?
- How do you keep yourself organized when balancing multiple projects.
- Why do you want to work at this company?
- What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership skills?
- Tell me about a time you made a mistake or failed?
- What motivates you?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
- Do you have any questions for me?
More than be prepared to answer questions, the candidate is expected to ask good questions and that may be the most important make-it-or-break-it moment of the first interview.
